Sonnet 9
That thou consum’st thyself in single life?
Ah, if thou issueless shalt hap to die,
The world will wail thee like a makeless guy;
The world will be thy widower, and still weep
That thou no form of thee hast left behind,
When every private widower well may keep,
By children’s eyes, his wife’s shape in mind:
Look, what an unthrift in the world doth spend,
Shifts but her place, for still the world enjoys it;
But beauty’s waste hath in the world an end,
And kept unused the user so destroys it:
No love toward others in that bosom sits
That on herself such murd’rous shame commits.

原 詩
莎士比亞十四行詩 9
怕你 那寡婦 會
淚流足顿

怕你 那寡婦 會 淚流足顿,
为此,你就 一世 當 光棍 ?
啊,如果 你死了而無後,
这世界,將为你嚎哭,像个孤零零的妻子;
而你没有 留下 应有的 子嗣,
这世界,將为你抽泣,猶如你的寡婦;
每个贤慧的寡婦,看到她孩子的雙眼,
一定想起 她丈夫的容颜:
看,这世界 对挥霍钱财,
它樂意接受,是一種 流通;
你不善用这美好,竟把它毁了;
而把美好断送 ,这世界就寿终。
對 異性 沒有 愛 在心中駐:
於他自己 幹了 凶残 羞恥事。

。。。。。。。。。。。。。。。original Sonnet 9
Is it for fear to wet a
widow’s eye
That thou consum’st thyself in
single life?
Ah, if thou issueless shalt
hap to die,
The world will wail thee like
a makeless wife;
The world will be thy widow,
and still weep
That thou no form of thee hast
left behind,
When every private widow well
may keep,
By children’s eyes, her
husband’s shape in mind:
Look, what an unthrift in the world doth spend,
Shifts but his place, for
still the world enjoys it;
But beauty’s waste hath in the
world an end,
And kept unused the user so
destroys it:
No love toward others in that
bosom sits
That on himself such murd’rous
shame commits.
